      There is a flower called the Shenzhen Nongke Orchid. This flower was developed completely by scientists, and researched by agricultureal scientists during 8 years. This flower sold for £160,000!!! That is the price of a small house!

      This isn’t the most expensive flower though. One gardener spent 15 years breeding roses until he created his ‘Juliet Rose’. The rose is supposed to be the most beautiful rose in the world. The Juliet Rose sold for £3 million! That is a lot of money!

      Some flowers are priceless. The Kadapul Flower is really rare . It only blossoms at night, and dies before that night finished. It is so delicate that it can’t be picked without damaging is. This flower could not have a price put on it!

      There is a huge illegal trade in plants which are rare .

      Some people will even steal from botanic gardens, this is very very sad.

      Recently the world’s smallest water lily was stolen from the botanic gardens in London, this was thought to be worth
      Because it means these plants will not be there for scientists and the public to enjoy. A plant like that is priceless!
