I have always wanted to be a scientist, ever since I was really young. I loved going to visit places like the botanical gardens and Science Museum, and really wanted to know more about the science that I learned at school. I was lucky because my Dad is a scientist, so he always really encouraged me to follow my love of science. But most parents would love their kids to become scientists, so most people get lots of support from their family when they love science.

I often think if I wasn’t a scientist (and I can’t imagine not being one!), I would like to be a performer in musicals in the West End. This is very very different from science, but I love listening/singing/dancing along to songs from shows like Wicked in my spare time.

When my dreams of becoming a Rockstar or Footballer for Arsenal were looking like they might not come true, I was still in school. Biology was my favourite lesson and I chose to carry it on!

It wasn’t until i got to university that I decided that I wanted my career to be scientific and I did my best to make it happen 🙂
