Plants use colours for different reasons, and these different colours have different meanings depending on the type of eyes an animal has. Flowers use colour to attract insects, as do many fruits.

However, sometimes plants use colour as a warning. This is why poisonous berries are often red – in nature, red is often used as a warning.

Yes plants can have warning colours.

Like animals bright colours such as red are usually a signal that the plant might be poisonous. However, it can be more difficult to tell with a plant, as plants use bright colours for other reasons also such as to attract pollinators.

not so much warning as attract!

they look pretty for insects to help pollinate them

or to attract insects to they can eat them 😛

Some plants which don’t need insects to pollinate them look a bit boring because the wind blows their pollen away instead.
